This is our Bideford project, where we completed the base and float stages. We began by applying an initial base coat with embedded mesh for added strength. The following day, we applied a slurry coat to cover the mesh and floated it to achieve a smooth, flat finish. Once this stage is complete, the surface will be primed and sprayed with a thin coat in the client’s chosen color, ensuring a durable result.
In this project, we applied a white Colourtex finish using a spray technique. This silicone render not only provides a sleek, modern look but also offers long-lasting durability, eliminating the need for future painting.
Our team did an outstanding job boarding and skimming this new salon, completing the project within a week. We installed and skimmed 39 sheets of plasterboard, adding arch beads to create elegant, individual rooms for their beauty treatments. Despite the short notice, we were able to step in quickly and keep the project moving smoothly, ensuring everything was finished on time and to a high standard.
We completed a re-render using sand and cement, achieving a clean, sharp finish that the client loved. The new render provides both durability and a crisp, modern appearance, enhancing the overall look of the property.
This was a unique project, as the cob had suffered significant damage after years encased in sand and cement. We tackled the challenge head-on, using cob blocking and Helifix bars to securely bond the new cob with the old structure. Along the way, we replaced any rotten lintels and adhered to traditional methods, using lime putty mortars to restore the building authentically.
Lime plastering is one of our core specialties. We take pride in restoring historic buildings, allowing them to breathe and maintain their structural integrity. Check out the images below to see our craftsmanship in action!
Tadelakt is a traditional Moroccan waterproof plaster, ideal for baths, sinks, and walls. Made from lime plaster, it's rammed, polished, and treated with soap to create a waterproof finish. Though labor-intensive, it is incredibly durable and versatile. Applied as a seamless paste, it forms soft curves and can be finished with either a matte or glossy look. Pigments can also be added to create a range of colors, making it both functional and visually striking.
